Background

The South American U-17 Championship is an international soccer tournament held every two years and qualifies 4 South American teams to the U-17 World Cup, organized by Conmebol.
Process
The definition of the process began with knowing the objectives and scope of the Peruvian Football Federation and Conmebol of the product we were going to build.
Then we defined the steps we had to follow in order to build it in 14 days.

Challenge
The challenge in this project was time, due to last minute changes in the definition of the South American Cup venue the project had 14 days to be created, tested and online one day before the inauguration date of the South American Cup.

Decisions
We created an Impact Map to understand the user’s need, define the experience and functional scope and build the platform.
Main decisions:
- The ideal technology to meet the dates was WordPress, it allowed us a quick implementation and a friendly manager for the organization.
- We bought a widget for the fixture logic, results, venues, etc.
- We created 2 communication channels, one for the internal team 01 UX Designer, 02 developers, 01 Copy Writer and me. Another channel for immediate communication with stakeholders.
- We made the decision with UX and Dev that the approved wireframe would go to development and the UI implementation will continue on the fly.
- At the design level, we created a UI KIT reflected in components that had definitions of colors, typography and shapes that we would need.
- We would test each section in production first internally and then with the customer, once validated, we would continue to validate the next screen.


Learnings
We acted as an agile team and communication between the team and stakeholders was vital to achieve this, we learned that we can create experiences quickly within an agile framework and it is not necessary to create the wheel from 0, we can use the validated learnings to be more agile and save time in the QA testing phases.
However a debt of the experience has been the little time to be able to deepen the research, but the online product, allowed us to learn with real Data and real feedback from people.
